The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Navi Mumbai, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next few days. Residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during periods of intense rain and to stay away from waterlogged areas.
The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has activated emergency teams across all wards. Drain cleaning operations have been intensified, while disaster management teams remain on standby to respond to emergencies. Citizens are encouraged to report fallen trees, waterlogging, or other civic issues through the NMMC helpline.
Motorists are advised to drive carefully, especially along Palm Beach Road, Sion-Panvel Highway, and other low-lying stretches where temporary flooding may occur.
